Stores like Shopko, Walmart and Toys "R" Us all opened Thanksgiving evening coining the term Gray Thursday.
Some say starting earlier helped while others say starting on Thanksgiving is too early.
Store managers say they haven't seen this many people out before. They attribute the bigger crowds to the earlier Black Friday shopping times.
