New Ice Rink Opens in Green Bay
GREEN BAY, WI -- It's time to bring out those skates hiding in your closet. A new ice-skating rink opens today at the City Deck outside of Hagemeister Park restaurant downtown.
The surface is made with a synthetic covering that will prevent the ice from melting.
The rink will also have special lighting and music to accompany the skaters. It’s made possible by a donation from Ameriprise Financial.
"The ice is great you got to get out there,” said Mayor Jim Schmitt. “I mean really it's just like real ice and the music is great and it's just a wonderful atmosphere."
Admission to get into the rink will be $2, and skate rentals will be available for $3 for the rest of this winter.
