UW-Green Bay honored several military veterans who are also students with a special reception on Friday afternoon. The number of veterans in the UW system is growing. About 400 are expected to be enrolled at UWGB this spring.
"UWGB really excels in one area and that's with relationships between faculty and students. Our small campus environment really is condusive to building those relationships and our faculty is always there for us, so it's nice as a veteran to be able to be there for them," said Jeremy Wildenberg, UWGB grad student and veteran.
The UW system is currently looking at ways to accomodate the growing number of veterans attending their colleges. The number has tripled in recent years.
