Netbooks for Green Bay Students
The Green Bay School District is hoping to give students a leg up with the help of some brand new technology. The district has just purchased 3,000 netbooks and will distribute them to students in sixth through ninth grades starting next week. The mini-laptops feature a program called "learning space" that's controlled directly by the Green Bay school system.
"A lot of students prefer to communicate through the internet as opposed to face to face, so this will give the students the ability to have both in the classroom," said Todd Anderson, business education teacher.
Other school districts are catching on too. Students in Ashwaubenon are already using the netbooks. Students in Menasha are set to receive them within the next few weeks.
