Obama Campaigns in Ashwaubenon
ASHWAUBENON, WI--The president fires up supporters in Ashwaubenon just five days before the election. President Obama held a tarmac rally at Austin-Straubel airport in a final push for Wisconsin votes.
The president spoke to an enthusiastic crowd for about half an hour. It was a short visit, but one analysts say could be what wins Wisconsin for him.
Aboard Air Force One the president makes a grand entry to the rally. He walks off the plane and the crowds cheer louder.
"It is good to be back in Green Bay, Wisconsin!" said the president.
In the final days of the campaign President Obama wants Wisconsinites to know he's fighting for the middle class.
"And that's why I need you, Wisconsin -- to make sure their voices are heard; to make sure your voices are heard. We've come too far to turn back now," said President Obama.
The president says we can't return to the Republican, top down economic policies that drove the country into debt. And he says if he's re-elected he'll put Wisconsinites to work.
"We should recruit 100,000 math and science teachers so that high-tech, high-wage jobs aren't created in china, they're created right here in Green Bay, Wisconsin." said President Obama.
Supporters in the crowd say it means a lot to them that the president rescheduled his visit to Wisconsin after cancelling Tuesday's to deal with Hurricane Sandy.
"He needs Wisconsin to win the election, win the electoral college and go on to four more years" said supporter Bill Rominsky from Fond du Lac.
President Obama asks supporters to believe in him for four more years.
"We'll win Brown County again. We'll win Wisconsin again. We'll win this election! " said President Obama.
