Symphony in Color
The Green Bay Symphony Orchestra unveiled artwork at the Weidner Center on Thursday. The pieces were created by fifth graders at Martin and Wequiock Elementary Schools as part of a program to build students' appreciation for music.
"We collaborate with the music teachers so they have a way of incorporating it into their curriculum. It's just a way for the Green Bay Symphony to be truly integrated in the community," said Donato Cabrera, music director of the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra.
The "Music for a Great City" program runs for two weeks and combines classical music based activities with artwork in students' music classes.
