The Fox Cities Marathon isn't until Sunday, but tonight the event kicked off with activities for the kids.
Children could participate in the mini-dash, quarter-mile, and half-mile runs, as well as a diaper dash and toddler trot. The Community First Fox Cities Marathon is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that aims to give back to the community and promote healthy lifestyles for people of all ages and athletic abilities. Each year, more than 8,000 people participate in this family-oriented weekend of events, made up of the Humana Health & Wellness Expo, the Guardian Kids Fun Run, the Affinity Medical Group Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine 5K Run/Walk, the ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus Half Marathon, the Orthopedic & Sports Institute Relay Marathon and the Community First Fox Cities Marathon. More than $450,000 in proceeds has been given back to local organizations throughout the years. The 22nd annual weekend of events is set for September 21-23, 2012.
