Spontaneous Outbursts of Aaarrr! Expected Across the World
(UNDATED)- What started as a joke among friends has turned into a cult like tradition. September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
The story goes the "holiday" was created in 1995 by two friends John Baur and mark Summers while playing racket ball. According to Summers, one of them reacted to an injury by shouting "Aaarrr" and the legend was born.
So, if you're out and about on Wednesday, don't say hello. Say Ahoy, Matey! After all, Talk Like a Pirate Day only comes around once a year.
