Construction begins this fall at Aurora Health Center in Shawano. The 10,000 square foot building will double in size to become a 20,000 square foot multi-specialty and diagnostic clinic. The expansion will include the addition of diagnostic and outpatient services in the Shawano community.

The expansion will build onto the east side of the current building. Normal clinic operations will continue during construction.

“Research shows that many in the Shawano community are traveling out of town for routine health care,” said Paul Summerside, MD, chairman of the board of managers for Aurora BayCare Medical Center and chief medical officer at BayCare Clinic. “This shows us that the community needs more health care options locally.”

“Expanding in the Shawano community makes sense for Aurora BayCare,” said Mary Beth McDonald, senior vice president of clinic operations for Aurora Health Care and Aurora BayCare Medical Center board member. “The community has asked for more health care options. Expanding the clinic will allow highly specialized physicians from Aurora BayCare Medical Center to provide care at a local level.”

Aurora BayCare Health Center in Shawano will offer more specialty services and diagnostics including:

  • Physical therapy services
  • Occupational therapy services
  • Chemotherapy
  • Mobile MRI
  • Digital mobile mammography
  • 16-slice CT scanner

Over the next several years, the clinic will also further enhance specialty services in the Shawano market by offering more clinic appointment times for:

  • OB/GYN
  • Cancer
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Cardiology
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Aurora BayCare Health Center in Shawano will have direct access to all the resources of Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay including a level II trauma center, level III NICU, Aurora Cancer Care, the Heart, Lung and Vascular Center and a nationally accredited breast center.
