The Race is On!
APPLETON-- The Thompson vs Baldwin race is on! Tammy Baldwin confident today campaigning in Appleton. She greeted the lunch crowd at Queen Bee restaurant on East College Street. "I feel very good about the fact we're here with a unified front and really focusing on the issues. Voters are going to go into the polling place on November 6th with economy and jobs on their minds," said Baldwin.
Baldwin is now shaping her criticisms on the former Wisconsin governor and more than willing to group Thompson with the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan presidential ticket. "Tommy Thompson really double-downed on the Tea Party agenda and very closely associated himself with the Romney/Ryan budget," she said.
On the flip side, Tommy Thompson embraced the "Wisconsin/Paul Ryan for President" tie as a positive and a selling point in his race against Baldwin. During his Tuesday night victory speech he said, "We become, in Wisconsin, a state that's going to elect Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and myself as the 51st senator from the state of Wisconsin to Washington D.C."
Political analysts believe this Wisconsin senate race, like the presidential race, is one of ideologies centrally focused on the role of government and spending.
