GREEN BAY, WI--Since Wisconsin is a swing state in the presidential race could having Paul Ryan on the ballot for VP be enough to win over the Republican vote?

Both Republicans and Democrats are buzzing with a Wisconsinite in the race. Our state went Democrat in the last presidential election in 2008, but political experts say Ryan's nomination could turn things around.

Political experts call Congressman Paul Ryan a leader when it comes to conservative spending ideals, and a rising star in the Republican party. State Republicans are thrilled to have one of their own on the presidential ticket, saying Ryan solidifies the conservative base.

"He and candidate Romney are going to tell it exactly like it is, and he has the credibility to know exactly what kind of trouble we're in financially with this country," said Republican John Gillepsie.

But Wisconsin Democrats are encouraged as volunteers campaign at the Brown County Democratic headquarters.

They say they're even more confident Obama will win now that they have a complete picture of what they're up against.

"The things that make our economy strong and keep people working. He's going to cut 20 percent right across the board and it paints a pretty grim picture for working people," said Democrat, Nancy Nusbaum.

As for the undecideds, political consultant Jim Morrison says there are not many left in Wisconsin, but Ryan could help sway their vote.

"There's a small percentage of people that will switch in Wisconsin and maybe that percentage is bigger...You know hometown boy makes good...It may be bigger than I think it is," said political consultant, Jim Morrison.

Time will tell, but for now, the political spotlight shines on Wisconsin.

In the 24 hours following the announcement of Ryan's nomination Mitt Romney's campaign raised about 3.5  million dollars, what political experts call a significant amount.
