GREEN BAY - During the Back to School Store, elementary-age children living in poverty in Brown County are invited to "shop" for an outfit for school, receive vision and dental screenings, a grooming kit as well as a new backpack filled with required school supplies.

Service League and community volunteers served as "shoppers" with each child to help them select
everything they need to be ready for their first day of school.  Each child received a complete clothing outfit, as well as socks, underwear and tennis shoes.  Parents of the children also benefit at the Back to School Store by receiving parenting and nutrition information and money saving
tips.

Spanish, Hmong, and Russian language translators were provided as well.

Coordinated and partially funded by Service League of Green Bay, the Back to School Store is supported by 29 schools and public agencies in Brown County.
