Billboards Battle Heroin
ALGOMA-- The Door-Kewaunee Drug Task Force is teaming up with local law enforcement agencies to try and curb heroin abuse. Billboards are up in Door and Kewaunee counties warning of the dangers of heroin abuse.
Heroin has not been a huge problem in those particular counties, but statewide, abuse is on the rise. In Winnebago county, police attribute close to 20 deaths from heroin in 2012. Police in Door and Kewaunee counties hope the billboards will raise awareness and help stop heroin from becoming an epidemic.
Police ask anyone who suspects heroin is being used or sold in those counties to contact the drug tip hotline at 920-746-2444 in Door county or 920-388-0440 in Kewaunee county.
