DE PERE, WI --Families are forced to find ways to stay safe outside as they battle the heat for the annual Pink Flamingo Softball Tournament  in De Pere.

Many are taking extra precautions in this heat advisory to avoid getting sick. Some fans say they can't remember it ever being this hot at annual the fundraiser. So to stay cool, extra few bottles of water, some shade and a lot of dedication to the game is doing the trick.

Organizers say the tournament typically raises between 40 to 50 thousand dollars for local charities each year. They're not expecting that number to go down, even with the heat index making it feel close to 100 degrees.

Brown county deputies were on hand at the event in case of an emergency. Luckily no one got sick from the heat.
