After only breaking ground six months ago, the first part of the De Pere Riverwalk is finally finished. A celebration was held at the Riverwalk site at Voyageur Park in De Pere. When the entire project is finsihed, two bridges will extend from the southend of the island over the Fox River--that will have a walleye fishing dock and a 315-foot viewing pier. Construction on the second phase is set to begin in October.
