It's summer and Japanese beetles have arrived to eat-up your garden. The bugs eat leaves and flower petals, but don't necessarily kill trees or shrubs. The Brown County Extension Service says the number of insects will triple this summer because of the amount of rainfall from last summer. Gardening experts say the beetles can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time. The best way to manage the destruction is to pick the bugs off your plants a few at a time and drown them in a bowl of dish-soap and water.
