GREEN BAY - The Packers' all-time leading receiver is staying in Green Bay.
Donald Driver was back on the football field with his teammates Wednesday, after agreeing to a restructured deal keeping him with the team for a 14th season. Fresh off his win on the hit TV show Dancing With the Stars, Driver says he's thrilled to be playing for the Packers for another year.
"I'm happy. I'll retire as a Packer, and that's all that really matters," he said.
Driver says the support he's received from Packer Nation over the past couple of months has been overwhelming.
"You think about it, for ten weeks straight, everybody's been watching their TV on Monday and Tuesday cheering me on. It was great to just be out there and hear all the great voices.. people saying show me a dance move. I told them I'd have to show them later," said Driver.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says he's glad to see Driver back on the field.
"It's good to see him back in his real uniform," he said.
Driver says while he can't predict what the future holds, he plans to live in the moment and give his all this upcoming season.
He said, "When it's all said and done, I get to walk out of here knowing that I've done everything I can."
