One Week to the Recall
GREEN BAY, WI - We're down to the final week of the Recall Election. Voters have just seven days to decide on a candidate. The Government Accountability Board estimates up to a 65% voter turn-out. Candidates are still trying to gain ground, but will these last few days make a difference?
“Even those who have decided ought to consider whether their position is what they really want for this state,” said Michael Kraft, UWGB Political Science Professor Emeritus.
And both candidates are working hard to campaign and sway voters. It was a busy afternoon at Scott Walker's Victory Call Center in Green Bay.
Volunteer Ryan Riebe said it's important that everyone casts a ballot.
“It's really the time we have to decide the direction Wisconsin is going to go in the next couple of years,” said Riebe.
The Democratic Party of Brown County said they could not accommodate NBC26 Tuesday, to see how they're attempting to gain support for Tom Barrett.
But Joan Barry said she's been supporting Barrett for a long time.
“I believe that Barrett is a very strong candidate and will bring Wisconsin back to the cutting edge state that it was,” Barry said.
She adds that if you're undecided, it's time to learn the issues in this historic race.
“Regardless of what your feeling is, please go to the polls,” said Barry.
“Get some facts that mean something to you in your life. That you want to see happen in your life, and your kid’s lifetime,” said Rosie Wright, who lives in the area.
With more than 2.5 million voters expected to cast a ballot in the Recall Election, people will be deciding how they want the future to go.
