Political Volunteers Working Overtime
Green Bay-- In recent weeks volunteers have been making calls to get voter support in the recall race. Those efforts continued on Memorial Day.
“We have thousands of volunteers throughout the state who are taking time out of their Memorial Day weekend to actively campaign for Governor Walker we have volunteers who are making phone calls and knocking on doors,” said Wisconsin Republican Party spokesperson Ben Sparks.
Bob Kiefert of the Brown County Democrats says the holiday weekend isn't stopping those committed to the cause from working. “Most people it's the holiday weekend, it's go to the beach, things of that nature. We've got a lot of people that are coming down going door to door and talking to people,” Kiefert said. Both parties will continue door to door visits on Memorial Day and throughout this week.
