SNAP Calls On District Attorney
Green Bay-- Peter Isely of SNAP, the Survivors Network Of Those Abused By Priests, is on a mission. Isely wants the Brown County district attorney's office to look into cases of alleged sex abuse by priests. Isely says the civil case should not be the end of investigating the Diocese. "The problem has not been solved, that there are elements of that fraudulent behavior that continue today," Isely said.
Isely says the diocese has admitted 51 clergy members were accused of sex crimes against children over the years. "Who are they where are they who has these names which of them are dead which of them have left the priesthood which have them have left the state, are they in my neighborhood, are the in your neighborhood, why have they never been brought to justice," Isely said.
Brown county's previous D.A. John Zakowski refused to prosecute based on lack of evidence. New D.A. John Lassee says he will contact the diocese to see if they have the names of any clergy accused of sex crimes.
