Packers Owners’ Box?
GREEN BAY, WI - A Green Bay Packers Shareholder is coming up with an unusual idea, an owners’ box. But this would be a different kind of owners’ box, only used for people from charitable groups.
"I know the history of this team, and there are unsung heroes over there,” said Steve Ewing, the shareholder who came up with the idea.
Ewing has been a shareholder since 1956, and now he wants to use 35 of the new 6,700 seats at Lambeau for people from organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, burn victims and war veterans.
"People could share the greatest experience in the world, the Lambeau experience, said Ewing. “With the most deserving people in the world. The people that otherwise wouldn't get to see that."
Ewing met with Packers President, Mark Murphy a few weeks ago and explained the plan at Wednesday’s Stadium District meeting.
“We get a lot of interesting ideas from fans that have great ideas,” said Packers Spokesperson, Aaron Popkey.
Popkey said they will review the plan.
“There are a lot of the elements that Steve brought forth that we do incorporate already,” said Popkey.
Right now the Packers said there is no definite timetable for a decision on the owners’ box.
