Churchill Exhibit in Appleton
Appleton, WI - Art lovers in Appleton are in for a special treat! three paintings by Sir Winston Churchill are now on display.
The Trout Museum of Art will have the former British Prime Minister's work available for the next few few months. Staff members say museum goers are suprised to learn about Churchill's artistic side.
Timothy Riley, Executive Director of the Trout Museum of Art says, "Winston Churchill came to painting rather late in life. He didn't pick up his first brush until age 40, during the first world war, and he painted regularly beyond that. I'm afraid he didn't have a lot of time to paint during the second world war, we know he was busy with other things."
An opening reception was held Friday night at the museum. The exhibit runs through the end of July.
