Tornado Season
GREEN BAY, WI - It is April in Wisconsin and that means the start of tornado season.
This was the scene last April after a tornado tore through Kaukauna. More than 150 homes and businesses were damaged. The National Weather Service in Green Bay says it is important to plan ahead and be prepared for violent storms like this so no one gets hurt.
Jeff Last from the National Weather Service says, "It's important for people to have a safety plan in place before the severe weather hits. The time to practice or put that kit together is not when a warning is issued. Now is the time to prepare as we get closer to the beginning of severe weather season in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin saw an unsually active tornado season last year. 38 twisters hit the state, fourteen of those were in the NBC26 viewing area.
