Oven Explosion at Appleton Bakery
Appleton, WI - One person is in the hospital after an oven exploded inside an Appleton bakery.
It happened at Quaker Bakery on North Mason Street just before 10:00 Wednesday morning. There was no fire after the explosion.
Crews say a safety valve malfunctioned, allowing natural gas to build up inside the oven. When an employee tried to light it, the door blew open and hit him, causing serious injuries.
