Romney Speaks In Appleton
Appleton, WI-- An enthusiastic crowd joined U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan in welcoming republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney to Appleton's Lawrence University. Almost 400 people packed the Stansbury theater to hear how Romney differs from his potential challenger president Barack Obama. Romney’s supporters say he gave an excellent speech, one that hit home for Republican voters.
But some of the state's most conservative voters doubt that Romney can rally the party enough to beat President Obama.
Romney's loudest cheers came from a comment on unions, a divisive issue in Wisconsin. It’s a stance sure to get some of the conservative republican base in Romney’s corner come November.
