Vote to Certify Recall Election Set for Friday
MADISON, WI. (AP) - Wisconsin elections officials are recommending that a recall election against Governor Scott Walker to Proceed.
Staff of the Government Accountability Board say in a memo released Thursday that more than enough signatures were collected on petitions seeking the recalls of Walker Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.
The Board is scheduled to vote on Friday to certify the election. The primary would be held May 8th. The general election is scheduled to take place on June 5th. The G.A.B. already said it had enough signatures to call for elections against four Republican State Senators.
A vote is planned, also for tomorrow, to hold those recall elections for the same dates.
Thursday's memo states there were 900,938 signatures on the Walker petition, far more than the 540,208 needed.
