Career Fair in Appleton
Appleton, WI - Eighth graders in the Fox Valley were thinking about their futures on Wednesday.
3,200 students attended a career fair in Appleton, hosted by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce. Volunteers from 60 different businesses explained their jobs, including the education and skills needed to be successful.
"More and more career exploration is taking place in the middle school, especially with the new guidance model that the state of Wisconsin has adopted. It starts very early, so this is wonderful preparation as they move from eighth grade into high school," said Patty Milka with the Chamber of Commerce.
Twenty-six area middle schools participated in the career fair. The students learned about jobs ranging from agriculture to health science.
