Honoring Women Pilots
Appleton, WI - A ceremony was held Monday evening, honoring women who take bravery to new heights.
Appleton's History Museum featured a presentation to recognize local women who were aviation pioneers in Wisconsin.
Years ago, women faced many challenges before taking to the sky.
"Women currently only hold about 6 percent of the pilot certificates held nationwide. So, it's important to share these kinds of stories to hopefully inspire other young women and girls to explore aviation as a career," said Rose Dorcey with the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame.
