Girls State Basketball Finals
MADISON, WI - Several teams from our area take home Girls Basketball state championship titles. The De Pere Redbirds win 60-57 over Milwaukee King in the Division 1 title game.
And the New London Bulldogs were trying to defend their Division 2 Title against the Bew Berlin Eisenhower Lions. The game went down to the wire. The Lions were down three when Nicole Bauman hit a three-pointer to tie the game. But the Bulldogs had an answer when Bridget Pethke found Tara Knapstein under the basket giving New London a 39-37 lead. The bulldogs go on to win 43-39, capping off their undefeated season.
And Kewaunee won their first Division 3 state championship game, in the 50-41 victory over Oostburg last night. Congratulations to all the teams.
