Sheboygan's New Mayor
Sheboygan, WI - The city of Sheboygan is about to start a new chapter. Mayor-elect Terry Van Akkeren took the oath of office tonight. In the last few years, Sheboygan has seen its fair share of controversy, receiving a lot of national attention for former Mayor Bob Ryan's controversial personal life. Now the city hopes to move on and get back to business.
Today the new Mayor spent part of his day setting up his new office. On the top of his agenda, is mending the divided community. NBC26 spoke with local residents and they tell us that they hope the Mayor will put revamping downtown Sheboygan at the top of his agenda. Right now the first item on the Mayor's agenda is to tackle next year's budget.
