Crime Rate Drop in Green Bay
Green Bay, WI - The city of Green Bay has announced that the crime rate has dropped to its lowest level since 2000.
The report from the FBI shows property crimes were down by almost five percent last year.
Robberies were down as well, almost half the number from just five years ago.
Police say efforts by neighborhood associations and the public in general give them an extra set of eyes when it comes to fighting crime.
"We work closely with the neighborhood watch, to listen to the neighborhood, to see what's going on, and then with our mapping capabilities, we can track hot spots in the city where crime is occurring," said Lt. Kevin Warych with the Green Bay Police Department.
This is the lowest property crime rate for the city of Green Bay in twelve years.
