SHAWANO, WI - The Diocese of Green Bay and Sacred Heart Catholic School are apologizing to the people of the Menominee Nation.
    A Shawano family spoke to NBC26 in January, saying their daughter was benched from her school basketball game for speaking the Menominee language. the school's principal has since apologized. In a statement to the family, the Diocese education director says "It is our hope that with greater awareness, we can begin to repair any harm that has been caused, and be able to build new and improved relationships."
