Lambeau Field Construction Ahead of Schedule
Board Hopes Improvements Will Help Local Economy
Green Bay, WI - Lambeau Field construction is well underway, and even ahead of schedule.
Wednesday, members of the Stadium District toured the construction areas, checking on the progress of the sites. The construction will prevent many special events from happening at the stadium, but the Stadium District Board is hoping its other initiatives will pay off and create more money for Titletown's economy.
"Trying to recruit the WIAA to have their basketball tournaments here, we're not going to be able to have any special events next year here in Lambeau field," said Stadium District Chairperson Ann Patteson.
The committee is pumping $25,000 from their fund to convince the WIAA to come to Green Bay. The construction project is expected to be completed around May or June of next year.
