Neenah, WI - A Neenah Senator apologizes after slamming Green Bay's Preble High School in a bar-room conversation.

State Senator Mike Ellis was apparently talking about school vouchers in Green Bay when he called Preble a "sewer" and described it as quote "having all the poor people."  Students, staff and faculty spoke out saying "they're proud of their school and the comment we're uncalled for."

The Senator has responded by saying, "I used Preble as an example. Bad, bad idea.  Preble is not a failing school.  I know they're not a failing school.  They're an excellent school and I have apologized.  And I have apologized in the form of a letter to the principal."

The school's principal says she want to see Ellis visit the school to see what types of students and programs are being offered.
