DE PERE, WI - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was a day on, not a day off for volunteers from Saint Norbert College in De Pere.
Volunteers teamed up with residents at the Nicolet Highlands Senior Apartments Monday to make fleece blankets for mothers in need. Each of the blankets will be donated to House of Hope, an organization that helps new mothers who are living on their own.
"I think they'll be thrilled to know that people out here in the community were thinking of them specifically, and really wanting them to have something as a nice remembrance of their friends in the community." said Saint Norbert College Coordinator Nancy Malaczewski.
Other volunteers from Saint Norbert spent the day helping out at Paul's Pantry and the Neighborhood Family Resource Center.
