People in Shawano County are picking up the pieces after a confirmed tornado touches down. An E-F0 tornado touched down in the Town of Lessor just before seven Tuesday night. Luckily, no one was injured.

It was a scary night for one family when lightning struck their house.

"I was watching the lightning out the back door and the west door. When you hear the flash and the boom at the same time you know you've been hit," said Vickie Lasecki.

Lightning went through the roof of Lasecki's 100-year-old house. Debris lays on the outside and the inside of the home is scorched.

"We have clothes. We have stuff," said Lasecki. "We were fortunate to get some stuff out. The neighbor kids came over and were helping get out what we could at the time."

Friend of the family Jean Hervas was there to help too.

"My heart went out  to them. I started praying," said Hervas. "This is gonna be real tough. She works out of the home."

Shawno County Emergency Management Director Steve Haskell has been surveying damage across the area all day.

"We had heavy rains which caused flooding," said Haskell. "We had lightning. We had some trees uplifted and crops damaged from high winds from the tornado that touched down."

Meanwhile Lasecki keeps in mind, the grass is greener on the other side.

"We have our lives. This is just a house," said Lasecki. "When you have God you can get through anything."
