A 2-year-old child from Milwaukee is recovering at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury after accidentally shooting himself with his father's handgun.
It happened Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of N. 36th Street.
Milwaukee police say the boys' father left a handgun in a location that was accessible to him and he accidentally shot himself.
The father of the child was arrested by police and the case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County D.A.’s office in the coming days.
No other information has been released at this time.
