There were 39 ICE arrests in Wisconsin during a monthlong operation that began May 9.

Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 331 people during an operation targeting criminal aliens and other immigration violators in six Midwestern states. This is the latest effort by ICE to arrest and remove convicted criminal aliens.

The operation resulted in arrests in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Kansas and Missouri.

ERO officers arrested 39 men across Wisconsin. All have been convicted of crimes in the United States including illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, battery, domestic abuse, 4th degree sexual assault, drugs, and drunk driving. Four of the 39 had been previously deported from the United States and illegally re-entered.

Of those arrested in Wisconsin 12 were arrested in Green Bay, 5 in Milwaukee and 5 in Sturgeon Bay. There were also arrests made in De Pere, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Pulaski, New Franken, Seymour and Sheboygan.

Those arrested who have outstanding orders for deportation or who returned to the United States illegally after being deported are subject to immediate removal from the country. The remaining individuals are in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge or pending travel arrangements for removal in the near future.
