Hundreds gather outside DC Everest High School to honor fallen officer

Hundreds gathered at DC Everest High School Tuesday, and even more plan on gathering Wednesday, to honor officer Jason Weiland.

The 40-year-old detective for Everest Metro Police Department was one of four people killed in a shooting spree last week in Marathon County.

Weiland has been described by friends and family as a devoted father, and a proud officer.

His family is asking for privacy during this time.

They're also asking for donations to the Weiland Memorial Fund instead of flowers.
