More than 5,500 students in need at 11 Green Bay schools are receiving dental health kits this week. The kits include a toothbrush, toothpaste, a timer, dental floss, and educational materials.
The hope is that kids will use the kits to practice good dental health when they're away from school.
"It keeps kids brushing, thinking about their health over the summer and keeping them going, because our goal is to prevent tooth decay," said Julie Paavola of Oral Health Partnership.
The kits will go to students who often cannot afford new toothbrushes.
Three dental clinics will also operate throughout the summer.
