GREEN BAY, WI -- Despite tonight's loss, it was still a special night for thousands of fans as they gave Brett Favre and Bart Starr a standing ovation, as the legends stood on the field together.
No doubt, history unfolded on the field tonight, and the fans went wild for it.
Those NBC26 spoke with say they've been waiting a long time to see Favre's number hang high in Lambeau Field.
"History man, generations.. don't see anything like it," says one fan, clad in green and gold.
"Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and Aaron Rodgers--three of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game--and we just witnessed it," says another fan. "It was the greatest thing we've ever seen, ever."
"Unbelievable! We love you, Brett!," exclaims another rain-soaked fan. "Unbelievable night!"
