During Wisconsin’s tough winters, the opportunity to use a snow blower can often save you time and sanity.

Many of the snow blowers you see outside could be made at Ariens Company in Brillion.

Kyle Deamer and Michael Gilbertson both work at Ariens as team leaders on the production line where they’re currently producing deluxe snow blowers.

Ariens has manufactured snow removal equipment for more than 50 years. Gilbertson says sometimes they hear of customers who’ve had a piece of Ariens equipment for decades.

“I saw one from the 50s that my grandfather had, and it still works,” he explained. “It’s fascinating to see how long our product lasts.”

Winter doesn’t last forever though, so in addition to snow throwers, Ariens makes lawn and garden equipment.

“We have a wide variety of lawn equipment. Essentially from zebra turns all the way to commercial zero turns for lawn contractors,” explained production manager Adam Standon.

No matter where you visit at Ariens, you’re likely to find someone who genuinely loves their job.

“I get to see these people every day, eight to 10 hours a day. It’s like a second family, that’s what I’m proudest of,” said Gilbertson.

“A lot of our workers have been here 20 plus years. It’s pretty awesome,” added Deamer.

As you work your way down the Ariens assembly line, the people who work there say that everything from the culture, to the product is great.

“I know manufacturing in Wisconsin continues to get bigger and bigger. [But] for Ariens, it definitely means we know where Ariens gets made and the product gets used worldwide and it’s definitely a cool relationship with that,” said Standon.

Many workers we spoke with shared how proud they were of their product.

“Everyone feels like one here. It’s not ‘in for me’ or ‘in for you.’ It’s what’s best for us,” shared Deamer.

“I get a lot of joy out of going out there and seeing our products on the shelves,” said Gilbertson.

Workers say one of the best feelings is seeing what they made heading out to stores worldwide.
