We're learning more about a tornado that tore through Barron County on May 16th, 2017.

One person was killed and the storm caused $10 million in damage.

The National Weather Service upgraded the tornado to an EF-3.

Upon further infestation by the National Weather Service it was found the tornado packed winds of 140 miles per hour.

This is the first EF-3 tornado in the state since the Verona tornado in 2014.

The National Weather Service also determined this tornado was on the ground for an incredible 83 miles making it the longest track tornado in Wisconsin since modern tornado documentation began back in 1950.

The average Wisconsin tornado is only on the ground for a few miles.

The previous longest track tornado since 1950 was an EF-4 that traveled 140 miles from Pierce County to Iron County back in April of 1929.
