MILWAUKEE, WI --After losing their own son who was run down and killed by a driver a Milwaukee family joined others on the same street to help prevent another tragedy.
The family is teaching kids how to cross the street safely. They joined the "Peace for Change Alliance" this weekend. Their goal is to not lose another life at an intersection.
"We probably can't teach a person to drive better but as long as I know my kid knows how to cross the street better for their safety, I feel a lot much better," said family member Shakila Gee.
The city of Milwaukee is looking into ways to get drivers to slow down on the street but more than two months later no changes have been made.
