Property Tax Decrease
WISCONSIN - Property taxes in Wisconsin have dropped for the first time in 12 years.
That is according to the Governor's office. They say taxes on a median-valued home decreased 0.4% last year.
Gov. Scott Walker says, "It's a small drop from last year, but when you compare it to the $700 or more increase that people in that same house would've got, it's a huge difference, and it's headed in the right direction. We promised property tax relief, we actually delivered on it."
Walker's administration issued a statement crediting the Governor's controversial collective bargaining law for the decrease.
