Democratic Dane County Treasurer Dave Worzala
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Democratic Dane County Treasurer Dave Worzala has announced he is running for Congress to succeed U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin.
Worzala joins two other Democrats who have already announced their campaigns, state Reps. Mark Pocan and Kelda Helen Roys. No Republicans have announced for the race yet in the 2nd congressional district, which covers Madison and surrounding areas.
The 46-year-old Worzala told the Wisconsin State Journal in a story published Thursday that his experience in county, state and federal government and his expertise in government finance sets him apart.
Worzala was elected treasurer in 2008 and also served three terms on the Dane County Board.
Worzala says he is a progressive who takes budgetary problems and looks for solutions.
