FISH CREEK - The Coast Guard along with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and several other agencies are searching for a kayaker who went missing in Green Bay on Saturday. The Coast Guard believes he went missing near Horseshoe Island off of Peninsula State Park.
Family members of the missing 20-year-old man tell the Door County Sheriff's Department he was supposed to return by 4:00 PM on Saturday. They say he was kayaking from Nicolet Bay to Horseshoe Island.
The Door County Sheriff's Department notified the Coast Guard shortly after 10:00 PM after a crew from the WDNR found a kayak on Horseshoe Island. The man's cellphone and jacket were also found in a vehicle nearby.
