A Fox Valley church reached out to immigrants Monday, welcoming them to the area and connecting then with the community.
The First Congregational UCC of Appleton wanted immigrants to feel welcomed in the area.
A meeting Monday featured immigrants who live in the Fox Valley area, discussing their experiences coming to the country.
"If we have an opportunity to hear firsthand about the lives of other people, what brought them here, what keeps them here and what their hopes are, then there's a chance that we can be more understanding and more appreciative of the variety of people who live in our community," said Steve Hirby, a member of First Congregational UCC.
