The Shrine of our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin received national recognition today.

The U.S. Conference of Bishops confirmed the shrine as a new National Shrine of significant importance. The group says the shrine makes an exceptional difference in the spiritual lives of those who visit.

In a statement, Green Bay Diocese Bishop David Ricken said, “For more than 155 years, a continuous flow of faithful has come to this Holy site in Champion to pray, to seek solace and comfort in times of trouble and to petition Our Lord Jesus Christ through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of Good Help."

Ricken also unveiled a new sign for the shrine that updates the name to the "National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help."
