They say time heals all wounds.

"We haven't forgotten about Teresa no matter how much everything else tries to overshadow that," said Teresa Halbach's college friend, Jill Walsh.

Walsh is the driving force behind a movement to honor Halbach's memory.  She's asking everyone who is racing in the Cheesehead Run in Hilbert or in the High Cliff Ultra and High Cliff State Park to wear blue, which was Halbach's favorite color.

The hope is to put the focus back on Teresa, after learning there's a chance Brendan Dassey could be released from prison.

"After a few years gone by you don't forget, but you're not angry anymore and now it's becoming the same thing,it's going to be all turned up again," said Halbach's old boss and friend, Thomas Pearce.

Walsh says she's hopeful many people will particpate in honoring her friend.

"There's so many good people and they're not going to let you know news of whatever happened with the case or whatever the latest decision is overshadow the fact that you know there is somebody who was a victim in all of this and that was Teresa," said Walsh.

Walsh's post on the run has been shared on Facebook more than 200 times.

KNOW THERE IS SOMEBODY WHO WAS A VICTIM IN ALL OF THIS AND THAT WAS TERESA."

"I think it's extremely important because it just brings the community together," said Amanda Cullen who will be running in the Cheesehead race this Saturday.

Through it all Walsh says she wants the Halbach family to know their community will always keep Teresa Halbach's name and memory alive.
